Referred to below as “I”. “You” means the person booking an appointment.
These terms apply to every appointment booked through this website — one-to-one consultations as well as group sessions. The version published at the time of your booking applies; later changes do not affect appointments already booked.
Differing terms apply only where I have expressly agreed to them in writing.
I am a pharmacist with a doctorate. What happens in my appointments is education and interpretation based on scientific evidence: I explain the state of research, how things work and how they fit together, in a way that makes sense.
These appointments are not medical treatment and are no substitute for seeing a doctor. In particular, they do not include:
Decisions about treatment and medication are for you to make together with the people treating you — your doctor and your local pharmacy.
In an emergency, contact the emergency services immediately (144 in Austria, 112 across the EU) or go to the nearest emergency department. A booked appointment is not the right route for that.
The presentation of offers on this website is not yet a binding offer, but an invitation for you to make one. By submitting the booking form you make a binding offer.
The contract is formed once your payment is confirmed and you receive the booking confirmation by email. Until then the appointment is held for you for 15 minutes; after that it is released again.
I store the contract text. You receive all essential details with the confirmation email and can open your booking at any time via the link it contains.
The price is shown with each offer and again before you submit. All prices are final prices in euros.
Note on VAT: [To be completed: either “Exempt from VAT under the small business scheme pursuant to § 6 (1) no. 27 of the Austrian VAT Act” or the VAT included, with rate and VAT identification number.]
Payment is made in advance via Stripe. Your payment details are processed exclusively by Stripe — card numbers are never visible to me.
Stripe issues the payment receipt. If you need an invoice made out to a particular name or company, please write to me after booking.
Cancellation by you. You can cancel free of charge up to the deadline stated with the offer and in your confirmation email. Use the cancellation link in that email; the refund is then triggered automatically and appears on your statement within a few business days, depending on your payment method.
After that deadline you can still cancel, but the fee is retained, because the time was reserved for you and can no longer be filled at such short notice.
No-show. If you do not attend, or arrive more than 15 minutes late, this counts as a cancellation after the deadline.
Cancellation by me. If I have to cancel an appointment, you get the full fee back. If you prefer, we find a replacement date instead. Any further claims are governed by section 10.
Rescheduling. An appointment can be cancelled within the free period and booked again. Do write to me if something gets stuck.
As a consumer you may withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason (§ 11 FAGG, the Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Business Act). The period begins on the day the contract is concluded.
No particular form is required. An email to hello@janinegriesser.com is enough; you may use the statutory model withdrawal form, but you do not have to. I refund any payments already made without delay.
Early expiry. If your appointment falls within those 14 days, the service begins before the period ends. That requires your express request — the booking form contains a separate checkbox for it, not ticked in advance. Your right of withdrawal then expires once the service has been fully performed, that is, after the appointment (§ 18 (1) no. 1 FAGG).
If your appointment is more than 14 days away, that checkbox does not appear: the period will have expired before the appointment anyway, and there is nothing for you to declare.
If you do not agree to the early start, you can still book — your right of withdrawal then remains fully intact.
Appointments take place online by video. You receive the access link with your confirmation, or by email in good time beforehand.
A sufficient internet connection, a working microphone and, if you wish, a camera are your responsibility. If an appointment fails because of your technology, section 6 applies. If it fails because of mine, I cancel and refund.
Please be on time: the duration is measured from the agreed time, not from your arrival.
Please give accurate details when booking, in particular an email address you actually read — confirmation, reminder and access link all go there.
The free text field in the booking form is for the reason for your appointment, not for medical histories. Please do not enter any health information there. Such data enjoys special protection (Art. 9 GDPR) and is not needed in order to arrange an appointment.
For damage arising from injury to life, body or health I am liable under the statutory provisions; that liability is not limited.
Otherwise I am liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence. For slight negligence I am liable only for breaches of material contractual obligations, and limited in amount to the damage typically foreseeable at the time the contract was concluded.
Since this is expressly education and not medical treatment (see section 3), I accept no liability for decisions you take on the basis of our conversation without consulting a doctor.
Mandatory provisions of Austrian consumer protection law remain unaffected by all of the above.
Documents, slides and texts you receive in connection with an appointment are protected by copyright. You may use them for yourself, but not publish or pass them on.
Recordings — video, audio or transcript — are permitted only where both sides expressly agree in advance.
How I handle your data is set out in the privacy policy. Booking involves processing your name, email address and appointment details; payment is handled by Stripe and email delivery by Resend.
I may change these terms for future bookings. For appointments you have already booked, the version published at the time of conclusion always applies.
Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another EU member state, the protection of that state’s mandatory provisions remains in place.
For claims against consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction under § 14 of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act applies.
I am neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body.
Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force. The statutory rules take the place of the invalid provision.
